Srinagar, Nov 06 (KNS): Expressing his deep grief and sorrow over the sad demise of veteran journalist and Editor The Kashmir Times, Ved Bhasin, the incarcerated Chairman Democratic Freedom Party Shabir Ahmad Shah said the deceased throughout his life remained sincere to his profession by upholding the ethics and values of journalism."Ved Bhasin throughout his journalistic career exhibited fearless journalism by always clinging to objectivity and impartiality. He always highlighted the plight of oppressed Kashmiris and raised voice against the oppression," Shah said in a statement to KNS, on Friday.
Shah said the contribution of Ved Bhasin with regard to highlighting the human Rights violation in the state will be written in golden words in history of Kashmir.
Expressing condolence with the bereaved family, Shah prayed for peace to the departed soul and strength to family to bear the irreparable loss. A delegation comprising of Muhammad Shafi and Ghulam Muhammad led by a Abdul Razzaq Chowdhary visited the residence of Ved Bhasin and expressed condolences and solidarity with the bereaved family.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
Meanwhile, a DFP spokesperson while condemning the arrest spree launched by so-called administration said the Million March will be organized at any cost.
Appealing people to make Million March program a success; the spokesperson said it is a referendum. He urged the party workers to ensure their presence to march and ask people to participate in the program.
"We want to make our voice reach the international forums."Condemning the police actions, he said continuous raids are taken at the DFP office, residence of Moulana Tari and party leaders and activists and their families harassed despite the arrest of Shabir Ahmad Shah.
"Such curbs won't break our resolve," he said.He said the DFP's Ashiq Hussain from Bandipora and Nazir Ahmad Malls from Arigam, Budgam were arrested and taken to unknown place.Prior to this, Er Farooq Ahmad Khan, Abdul Rashid Gilkar, Abdul Waheed, Shabir Ahmad Baba, Aquib Hussain, Javaid Ahmad, Mudasir Ahmad and Bilal Ahmad are lodged in different police stations.
