Srinagar, May 17 (KNS): The incarcerated chairman of Democratic Freedom Party (DFP) Shabir Ahmad Shah on Tuesday expressed grief over the demise of a prominent pro-freedom activist Altaf Hussain Mattoo who passed away on Monday. He also paid tributes to him for his services to the ongoing freedom struggle.
In a statement issued to KNS, Shah said the deceased was associated with the freedom movement since his early life and remained steadfast in this journey. “He faced many hardships and spent much of his life in jails and torture centers.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelWe salute this brave person,” he said.
On Shah’s directions, a Freedom Party delegation led by party general secretary Moulana Abdullah Tari visited the deceased’s residence and addressed a condolence gathering there.
Moulana Tari on the occasion paid tributes to Altaf Hussain and highlighted his contribution to the freedom struggle of Kashmir. He also prayed for eternal peace to the departed soul and forbearance to the bereaved family. (KNS)
