Srinagar, Mar 03 (KNS): Police on Friday arrested the Democratic Freedom Party (DFP) chairman Shabir Ahmad Shah along with his associates when he was about to address the people at Khanqah-e-Faiz Panah, Hazrat Ameer-e-Kabeer (RA), Tral.
According to the statement issued to KNS, the DFP spokesman said that raids were also conducted at party’s headquarters in Sanat Nagar, Srinagar.
Party’s general secretary Moulana Abdullah Tari while condemning Shah’s arrest said after serving the imprisonment of more than 3 years, the pro-freedom leader planned to visit Tral to address people and meet the family of Shaheed Burhan Wani.

The party is committed to take forward the agenda of Saffron party,” Tari said.
“Before coming to power, the PDP used to beat the drums of ‘battle of ideas’ and ‘vision’. How shamelessly the party changed its colours and unleashed a reign of oppression upon the people by snatching their vision and putting thousands behind bars,” he said.
Moulana said the arrests and other suppressive measures won’t stop us from pursuing the struggle of freedom. (KNS)
