Srinagar, Jan 22 (KNS): With heavy snowfall at Banihal area on Srinagar- Jammu national highway the road has been closed and passengers are advised to return back to safer places.
The traffic control room said that, “In view of continuous snowing in Jawahar tunnel area, no traffic should be allowed to either side of the highway. Passengers if any are advised to return back to safer places.”
Meanwhile the night temperature of Srinagar improves and recorded minus 1.3 degree Celsius than minus 3.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel3. in world famous ski resort the temperature recorded was minus 6 degree. While as Srinagar receives .8mm snow today morning.
Traffic department officials said that, for the safety of commuters, passenger vehicles, load carriers and security forces vehicles in Qazigund, Jawahar tunnel and Banihal area are advised to return to safer areas as it is not possible to allow any vehicle towards either side of Jawahar tunnel in view of extreme weather conditions.
