Jammu, July 12, (KNS): A joining function was organized today, Saturday, 12th July 2025, to welcome new entrants under the dedicated leadership of District President Parvez Ahmed Wani into the party. In this connection, an impressive function was held at PCC HQ, Shaheedi Chowk, Jammu, in which PCC Chief Tariq Hameed Karra and other senior functionaries of the party welcomed the new entrants into the Congress Party.
Several DPAP and Apni Party leaders from Thathri Block, District Doda, including Asgar Hussian Khanday – General Secretary DPAP, Mohammad Iqbal Telie – Ex-Block President DPAP, Mushtaq Ahmed – District General Secretary Apni Party, Imtiaz Ali – Secretary Block DPAP Thathri, Bilal Ahmed – District General Secretary DPAP, Abid Hussain – Senior Leader DPAP, Mashkoor Ahmed – Senior Vice President DPAP, and numerous esteemed senior leaders, as well as dedicated workers and supporters, joined the Congress Party today at PCC HQ Shaheedi Chowk Jammu.
Speaking on the occasion, PCC President Tariq Hameed Karra said that Congress Party is an instrument of service to the people and has remained dedicated to serving the public. He emphasized that Congress is duty-bound to address the urges and aspirations of the people and has always prioritized the common man's needs. He said the Congress Party believes in empowering people and is committed to the equitable development of the state. He described the BJP dispensation as anti-poor, anti-youth, and anti-farmer. Due to its flawed policies, public suffering has increased manifold. The insensitive government has pushed people to the wall with rising unemployment, price hikes, and stalled development. He claimed the BJP government has set the state back in all sectors over the past ten years.
Raman Bhalla, Working President PCC, criticized BJP leaders for betraying the people of Jammu by failing to represent their concerns. He strongly opposed toll hikes, smart meters, and new plazas.
He urged citizens to join Congress for the state’s progress and reaffirmed the party's commitment to public welfare and aspirations.
Congress leaders appealed to the public to support party candidates in the upcoming Parliament elections to counter BJP’s unfulfilled promises.
