Srinagar, Apr 07 (KNS): In a good will gesture, Shahabad Development Forum (SDF) on Tuesday started free langer to non-locals placed at Higher Secondary School Dooru, Anantnag.
According to Kashmir News Service (KNS), as hundreds of non-locals have been stuck in parts of Kashmir and could not move to their destinations amid lockdown imposed by authorities to keep Covid-19 pandemic away, Shahabad Development Forum (SDF) has started to serve non-locals stuck here with an aim to revive the ethos of Kashmiryat.
Spokesperson of SDF said that administration has directed non-local laborers including mason, carpenter, painter and others to reach Higher Secondary School Dooru and have kept them there.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
He said, the stuck laborers called us today and said that they don't have adequate facility of food grains and are hungry.
“Keeping in view the sensitivity of the matter, SDF took an initiative and started langer at the said location and provide food and other necessary items to stuck laborers”, spokesperson said.
Termed the stuck laborers as guests, spokesperson said at this juncture we feel pleasure and proud to serve these people. He added, we are always ready to serve people without any discrimination and to keep Kashmiryat alive. (KNS)
