Following revelations by India’s former spy chief A.S. Dulat about Kashmiri separatists which has unruffled many feather here, the pro-freedom leaders of three major factions – Hurriyat (M), Hurriyat (G) and JKLF - have decided to present a united face on Martyrs Day (July 13) by holding a rally together.
Sources told KNS that the decision to hold a grand rally on July 13 by Hyrriyat (G) chairman Syed Ali Geelani, Hurriyat (M) chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and JKLF Chairman Yasin Mailk was actually a culmination of secret deliberation that were going on between the trio from quiet some time. “Dulat’s character assassination of the three leaders only gave impetus to the decision of holding grand joint rally on July 13,” sources said.
Sources said that three separatist leaders will offer Nimaz-i-Zohar (Midday prayers) together at Jamia Masjid Srinagar and later will lead a massive procession towards martyrs’ graveyard at Naqashband Sahab.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel“The three leaders will address the rally there and will make some important announcements regarding leading the movement forward unitedly,” sources said.
Meanwhile, talking to KNS separately Mirwaiz, Ayaz Akbar (of Geelani camp) and JKLF spokesman confirmed that the united rally would be organised on July 13 to mark Martyrs’ Day.
On asking whether this was a step towards uniting the Hurriyat Conference, Mirwaiz said: “Need of the hour is that we have to stand united to take movement forward to its logical conclusion.’
He, however, said no hartal will be observed on that day because of Eid eve and ongoing Ramzan. (KNS)
