Srinagar, Jan 05 (KNS): Former Legislator and senior Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) leader Nizamuddin Bhat has appealed members of parliament from Jammu and Kashmir to seek discussion on serious crisis gripping most parts of the state following fresh snow fall.
In a statement issued to KNS, Bhat said, “Kashmir Valley is isolated, plunged into darkness. There is acute shortage of drinking water and most of the population is stranded and confined to homes. Suffering in Remote areas like Gurez, Karnah, Machil and hill areas in Chenab valley, Ladakh region and Poonch-Rajouri more compounded because of disconnect. One can imagine how patients should be grappling with life.”
Bhat said, “since state is under President’s rule, parliament and union government has to be alert and more responsive towards the issues of urgent public importance.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
He said it is an imperative for MPs’ of the state to draw their attention towards peoples’ woes and seek immediate support.
PDP leader said that the MPs’ should raise power and water crisis in light of lurking issue of state’s water resources and should demand compensation and final settlement of the issue on merits. He said MPs’ owe it to people that they make a common cause on issue of water resource and should speak in one voice. He said people are watching. (KNS)
