'Movement will continue despite suppression, oppression'

Thanking the people of Kashmir for observing complete shutdown on August 15 (Indian Independence Day), Democratic Freedom Party Chairman Shabir Ahmad Shah suggested New Delhi to read writing on the wall and express willingness to resolve the Kashmir issue.
During his continuous house arrest, Shah in a statement issued to press, while terming the shutdown observed by people of Kashmir as "referendum" said Kashmiris made it clear that New Delhi's oppressive and suppressive policies won't deter them from seeking their inalienable right of freedom."Indian politicians should ponder over the fact as to why they need to turn the whole Kashmir into a military garrison just to celebrate their independence day. They should think as to how the arrests, frisking, nocturnal raids and intimidations related to celebration of any independence day. The reality is that only the imperialist nation feels the need to celebrate its day in such a way and Indian home ministry is doing the same," Shah said.
Terming the state government as puppet, Shah said all the affairs are run by the clerks sitting in Indian prime minister and home minister's office.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel"State administration is collaborating just for its petty material gains and for lust of power."Severely condemning the turning of whole valley into a military garrison, Shah said though Mufti Sayeed is head of the state in papers, all keys of decision making are in the hands of communal elements sitting in Delhi and Nagpur. "Mufti surrendered in every respect just to be in power.” “This black day of 15 August only adds to woes of already oppressed people. Indian occupational forces continue to commit grave human rights violations. The only way to put end to such longstanding conflict is to resolve the dispute in a peaceful manner which will ultimately contribute to the establishment of peace in the subcontinent," he maintained. Shah also reiterated his demand of stopping arbitrary arrests and releasing the prisoners. "India should understand that Kashmir issue is a reality which cannot be sidelined and suppressed through military might. We're hopeful that sacrifices of our revered martyrs will never go waste and the we'll achieve our goal of freedom very soon," Shah added.
