Kulgam, Aug 18 (KNS): A private security guard employed at the District Hospital Kulgam in south Kashmir is under investigation for allegedly orchestrating a fraudulent withdrawal of Rs. 33 lakhs from the hospital's official account.
An official told the Kashmir News Service (KNS), that the security guard, who has been working as a security guard at DH Kulgam for the past six years, is suspected of using falsified signatures, including those of the Medical Superintendent (MS) and others, to carry out the illicit withdrawal.
He said that the Medical Superintendent became aware of the substantial sum of money withdrawn from the account without his authorization and promptly reported the matter to the police.
"Subsequently, upon discovering the incident, the hospital administration swiftly lodged a formal FIR with the police," the official said.
A police official has confirmed that a case has been registered in connection with the alleged fraud.(KNS)
