Security forces arrest 2 hybrid militants in Handwara

Handwara August 19 (KNS): Security forces today said they arrested 2 hybrid militants in Handwara and recovered arms and ammunition from them.
 
 A statement issued to Kashmir News Service (KNS), reads, "On Aug 4, 2022, joint parties of Police, Army 21 RR and 92 Bn CRPF had arrested 3 hybrid terrorists in Handwara and recovered arms and ammunition from them. FIR No. 213/2022 u/s 13 UAPA and 7/25 Arms Act had been registered at  Police Station Handwara and investigation was initiated."
The statement also reads that "based on leads developed during investigation, the role of two more individuals emerged in the conspiracy to carry out terrorist acts.
 
The statement identified them as Aijaz Ahmad Bhat @ Hilal, son of Khazir Mohd Bhat, resident of  Humpor and Naseer Ahmad Mir, son of Mohd Ramzan Mir, resident of Sagipora.

They have been arrested and based on their disclosure, a cache of arms and ammunition has been recovered by a joint team of Jammu and Kashmir Police, Army 21RR and 92 Bn CRPF. The recovery includes 02 Pistols, 04 pistol magazines and 58 pistol rounds, and 6 grenades, statement reads.(KNS)
