Srinagar, Dec 21 (KNS): Secretary, J&K Academy of Art, Culture & Languages Dr. Aziz Hajini Monday paid rich tributes to the 19th century legendary Kashmiri poets, writers and dramatists, Hakeem Manzoor Ahmad, Bashir Akhter and Ali Mohammed Lone, death anniversaries of all of whom coincidently fall on December, 21.
Pertinently, among the Radio playwrights of Kashmir Ali Mohammed Lone stands out as a leading figure who wrote several acclaimed plays like “Veth Rouz Pakan”. Bashir Akhter and Hakeem Manzoor, likewise, enjoy respectable places in their respective fields of expertise and are remembered for their remarkable contribution to Kashmiri poetry, and short stories.
“Manzoor's poetry reflects a unique richness of vivid imagination and so do stories of Bashir Akhter, which carry the feel and throb of the living style of ordinary people in Kashmiri society,” Hajini said, adding, as far as Ali Mohammed Lone is concerned Kashmir would never forget him.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
“He is a tall figure as far as Radio and theatre plays of him (Lone) are concerned,” Hajini said urging that more and more writers should come forward to research on these luminaries.
He also hailed the contribution of Ali Mohammed Lone and Bashir Akther for the service they rendered in the Academy where they served in various capacities.
The Secretary Academy also announced that in near future events will be organized by the Academy in their memory wherein their contribution will be highlighted. (KNS)
