Srinagar, May 11 (KNS): Expressing outrage, President Society of Dental Surgeons J&K (SDSJK) Dr Banday Imtiyaz said that the brute act of hooliganism by men in uniform at District Hospital Baramulla against Dr Mir Waseem a dedicated physician is unfortunate & unacceptable.
According to a statement issued to KNS, Dr Banday said that the hooligan in uniform harassed the doctor and the support staff when they told them to be out of ward as the staff needs to carry medical round of the admitted patients. This pathetic event is condemnable and culprit needs be booked under law.
He said doctors put in their blood and sweat to save lives in extremely difficult conditions here and instead of appreciation they get thrashing and derogatory remarks.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelThis mad pattern of atrocities against medical staff has become a routine and doctors face intimidation on regular basis. These episodes have generated a fear-psychosis among medical staff and they find it difficult to work under such hostile conditions. It is deplorable that hospital authorities have failed miserably to ensure safety and security of doctors and paramedical staff across state.
Dr Imtyaz Banday has criticized the Government for turning a deaf ear to the continuous request of establishing a fool proof security system for doctors and bringing an ordinance in this respect and mere verbal assurances won’t do justice to our concerns. (KNS)
