Screening test of ReT's;

Wani opposes Govt decision, terms it humiliation

Srinagar, Nov 30 (KNS): Srinagar, Nov 30: A day after government announced dates for the Screening Test of the Rehbar-e-Taleems (RETs), Chairman of J&K Teacher’s Forum, Abdul Qayoom Wani ridiculed the decision and said teachers having degrees from recognized institutions must not sit in the tests.
“What is fun of holding so called screening tests when the teacher is on job after appointed by government under rules,” he told KNS.
“In continuation to the Government Order No: 184-Edu of 2016 dated: 24-05-2016, it is hereby ordered that the Screening Test of the RETs shall be held in Jammu and Srinagar on 24 December 2016,” the government had said on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, Wani condemned such decision and said that the decision is humiliation not only for ReT teachers but for the recognized universities as well.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
He added that they have already suggested government to hold screening tests of those having certificates of unrecognized universities. “I believe that the screening tests must not be conducted for those having degrees from recognized universities,” he said.
Wani said that ReT teachers having certificates of recognized universities must not sit in the screening tests as it is humiliation for them. “The government has crossed all the limits of insulting the teacher profession by announcing such decisions including asking teachers to work as chowkidars,” he said.
