Srinagar, July 18 (KNS): As the aspirants of Finance Account Assistant (FAA) continued their protest on 5th consecutive, against scrapping of the selection process, the government on Monday said that the list is being inquired by a committee headed by additional chief secretary of the home department. 

A top official told Kashmir News Service (KNS)  that action will be taken based on report of the inquiry committee.

He said that if no irregularities are found, the process will be taken up further and if irregularities are found, strict action will be taken. 

The development comes when dozens of candidates, who have qualified the examination for the post of Finance Account Assistant (FAA), have been holding protest in Srinagar for the last 5 days after reports of scrapping of the selection list surfaced. 

The candidates said they had been preparing for more than two years before appearing in the examination and that their careers were at stake if government scraps the selection list.  (KNS)
