With the Jammu and Kashmir Government in no mood to announce a summer break for the schools kids, rhe scorching heat is taking toll over children’s health, making parents to express concern over such a situation.
According to KNS correspondent, due to the lack of facilities at both government and several private schools of valley, children are facing tough times as the temperatures increase every day after.
In this scorching heat, reports inform that children studying in various schools in Kashmir are forced to sit in small classrooms which are devoid of all facilities.
There are even reports of the government schools in which no facilities have been provided by the government for the children during the current hot summer days. “If the government says it is adamant not to announce any summer break this year, it should make sure that there are adequate facilities for the children who study in the cosy class rooms,” said the aggrieved parents.
During summers due to heat students say they can never give time to studies.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel“The class rooms we study in are so small that heat becomes unbearable and in absence of facilities problems are compounded,” says Zehra, a class 8th student.
As per these students there are no fans or drinking water facilities at govt schools due to which they prefer to shun schools.
Parents say that though there are so many centrally sponsored schemes available yet nothing is being done to build better infrastructure.
Meanwhile, despite the temperatures on Monday recorded as 32 degrees, a top government official told KNS that the government has no plans to announce any summer break this year for the school going kids. “The Education Minister has already made it clear that there would be no summer break as the syllabus has to be completed so that students could appear in exams during the coming November session,” official said while pleading anonymity.
