Plenary Talks by Stalwarts from Manchester and CSIR, Lucknow

Srinagar, Sep 10: (KNS) Scientific Sessions were held on the third consecutive day of the International Conference on Nanotechnology for Better Living (NBL-2021) at National Institute of Technology Srinagar. The 7th edition of biennial International conference is held under the aegis of Materials Research Society of India (MRSI) in association with Higher Education (J&K), SKIMS, SKUAST-K, SSM, Anna University, IIT Madras, NIT Mizoram, Sathyabama, M G University, and NRF, IIT Delhi from 07-11th September. The first innovation session was held and the around 08 speakers spoke at length. Dr. Bharti Gupta from Central University Jammu spoke on Emotions in Science and Technology and advised to learn to deal with different situations.


Convener of Conference and HOD Physics, Dr. MA Shah informed that sessions started with the Innovation Lecture by Prof Rakesh Kumar, followed by Prof Wahajjudin from CSIR Lucknow. It was followed by 6 prominent speakers who delivered invited talks on different
topics, which was followed by Oral Presentations. The oral and Poster Session-6a, b and c
was chaired jointly chaired by Dr Harkirat, Dr. Traiq Maqbool, headed by Prof Wahajjudin
and the best presenters were later awarded accordingly.


Among the best presentations are Dr. M. Azharuddin Ganai from IIT Madras and Dr. Mudasir from Kashmir University, who begged first prize. Romana Yousuf from Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, NIT Srinagar bagged second position, independently and Saadiya from Department of Food Technology, SKAUST-K bagged third position.
Among the best Poster Presentations, Searat Showkat from Division of Food Science and Technology, SKAUST-K, bagged first position without sharing. Aanisa Gulzar and Nowsheena Ayoub from Department of Physics, NIT Srinager bagged second position jointly, though were awarded independently as per recommendations. Saba Banday from Department of Plant Pathology, SKAUST-K bagged third position. The prizes are being given on spot and certificates shall be distributed on day 5- Saturday i.e 11 th September 21 from 9 am onwards. The session was concluded by a famous world known scholar of Kashmir, Prof Hamid Naseem Rafiabadi, who spoke on Intuition in Science briefly.(KNS)
