More than 100 students participates in programme

Srinagar Mar 5 (KNS): Police Drug De-addiction Centre, Srinagar held a School Mental Health Programme at Muslim Educational Trust, Baghat Barzulla Srinagar on Saturday.
More than 100 students of class 11th and 12th of the M.E.T School, Baghat, Srinagar participated in the programme. The programme was conducted under the supervision of Head of the School Mental Health Team of DDC PCR, Dr Shaila who gave a detailed presentation on the scenario of drug abuse among young population and the associated challenges. Dr Shaila emphasized on the need to prevent our young generation.
Zahid Jeelani Wani a Senior Counselor and Mr. Manzoor Ahmad Yatoo a Psychiatric Social Worker stressed upon the psychosocial aspects of drug abuse.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelThey elaborated on the early signs and symptoms of drug abuse behaviors and role of teachers and parents.
The participants and teachers were encouraged to share their problems and issues related to substance abuse on the helpline number 01942506512 which is functioning 24x7 at DDC PCR.
It is pertinent to mention that School Mental Health Programme is a continuous effort of Police Drug De-addiction Services to prevent the youth from Drug addiction. Till date the Drug De-addiction Centre PCR, Kashmir has conducted 17 programmes across District Srinagar, during the year 2015-16 and 10 programmes in Gurez valley. (KNS)
