Srinagar, April 26 (KNS): The Department of Education has yet to issue adjustment orders of 400 lecturers who were promoted from maters in July 2019.
The Directorates of Jammu and Srinagar had started the process of their adjustment, however, it was stopped after the administrative department barred them from doing it through a circular.
The aggrieved lecturers said that since their adjustments are still pending.
With regard to this pending adjustment, the Administrative Secretary School education department issued an order vide No 13 of Edu on 8th January 2021 wherein Director Finance SED was given the task to sort out the pending postings of lecturers in the light of govt order 940 Edu of 2017 dated 17/11/2017 within a period of 15 days but after more than three months it has yet to sort out the issue.
A group of agitating in charge lecturers lamented over the callous attitude of some of the officers of the department for its non-seriousness towards their adjustment issue.
These lecturers further showed their dismay on the selective implementation of the govt orders Viz 940 Edu of 2017.
Narrating their ordeal these lecturers said the in-charge lecturers promoted in the same order having the same nomenclature of the degrees, a degree from the same universities from the Jammu division were adjusted 18 months back and Kashmir based lecturers are suffering for none of their faults.
This selective implementation of govt orders is unacceptable. They further narrated that they represented the case at the concerned quarters but were given hallow assurances.
They hailed the work of the then Director School education Jammu for implementing the orders in letter and spirit.
They further appealed to the Administrative Secretary School education department to issue their adjustment orders on the basis of merits and relevant govt orders.
When KNS contacted Secretary School Education B K Singh, he said, "only those having distance education degrees and some other clearances pending are waiting for adjustment." (KNS)
