Saplings planted across Langate division on Chinar Day

Handawara, March 15 (KNS): Langate Forest Division on Wednesday planted dozens of Chinar saplings across several blocks of the forest division to observe Chinar Day. 


In Qalamabad block SHO Qalamabad Anam Manhas along with officials from forest department, PRIs and students planted dozens of Chinar saplings. 

Similarly in Gundchubtra of Qaziabad block, range officer Mawer Mudasir Ahmed with his staff members, PRIS and trade leaders also planted around 40 saplings of Chinar. 

Mudasir Ahmed said that they assembled to celebrate the Chinar Day and exchange the ideas about this heritage tree. 

He said that without Chinar the landscape of Kashmir is incomplete and today they planted around 40 Chinar saplings, while in coming days more trees will be planted.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel 

Meanwhile, SHO Qalamabad Anam Manhas interacted with students and appreciated their participation in the plantation drive. 

She called the moment very important to celebrate plantation of the heritage Chinar and impressed upon students to make people and their parents aware of the importance of forests. 

Meanwhile, civil society members said that it is the social responsibility and duty of every individual to cherish the preservation of the Chinar and other plants.

PRIs and the locals also hailed the efforts of forest department for planting Chinar saplings across the division. (KNS)
