Kargil, Jun 03 (KNS): The damaged bridge in Sankoo Tehsil of district Kargil collapsed on Monday after a tipper was crossing over it. This bridge connects Barsoo Nalla with Sankoo over Suru River.

The traffic was halted for three hours to evacuate the tipper following which the administration has allowed Light Motor Vehicles (LMV) only to ply on this bridge.

The administration as well as local government in LAHDC Kargil has severely failed to repair this bridge which was collapsed once last year.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel

The bridge was constructed almost 25 years ago and was the main route to reach Thasgam and Barsoo constituencies of Kargil.

Over a period of 25 years, the representatives of the area failed to address the genuine demands of public. If this bridge is not restored or replaced with concrete surface the day is not far when it takes human life. (KNS)
