Samba leading in Agriculture Marketing activities 

Samba, 20 May (KNS): Despite of full focus of the district administration of Samba district in COVID19 mitigation, on directions of Mrs Anupama Gupta Deputy Commissioner Samba, field functionaries of different departments have enhanced their field activities, adhering with all COVID19 SOP as well. Today Anuj Verma Assistant Grading and Marketing Officer Horticulture Planning and Marketing Department Samba visited multi-culture orchard of Sh. Kuldeep Singh at village Penthi on Sumb road in Samba. The orchardists has been successfully growing flowers, mangoes, lemon, kinno, mousambi, guava, pumpkin, watermelon, anjeer etc. in an orchard with more than fifty kanals of area. 

The AGMO Samba discussed in details marketing strategies adopted by Sh. Kuldeep Singh and improvements required with regard to grading, packaging and value addition. The orchardist was also registered under E-NAM.

It is informed that on directions of Sh. Navin Choudhary Principal Secretary Agriculture Farmers' Welfare and Horticulture Department and Director Horticulture Planning and Marketing Sh. Vishesh Mahajan, the department, the field functionaries are working with full zeal to increase the income of farmers vertically by adopting different techniques like diversification of crops, judicious use of land including multi-layer cropping, demand-driven production of crops, ethical grading, innovative and presentable packaging along with using a national online portal for marketing of their produce using E-NAM platform.

The department of Horticulture Planning and Marketing has started a special campaign in all districts including Samba district to register all farmers/ growers having marketable surplus under E-NAM ( Electronic National Agricultural Marketing) , so as to ensure them better returns of their produce in a transparent and easy manner.(KNS)
