Salvation Movement in an extra-ordinary meeting Monday decided not to attend ‘Eid Milan’ party being hosted by Pakistan High Commission in New Delhi.
In a statement to KNS Salvation Movement spokesman said that Party Chairman, Zaffer Akbar Bhat who was released today after the continuous house detention of more than a week, presided over the meeting which was attended by party leaders and district heads.
“In the meeting current political situation viz-a-viz Kashmir issue was thoroughly discussed. It was also decided that a party will not attend the Eid Milan being hosted by Pakistan High Commissioner to New Delhi, Mr Abdul Basit on tomorrow in New Delhi,” he said.
Addressing the meeting, Zaffer said, “Party intends to play its role on all the fronts and will sought political and diplomatic help from Pakistan in the interests of ongoing freedom struggle, however not mentioning Kashmir in Ufa talks has hurt the collective conscience of Kashmiris.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel”
Zaffer supported Syed Ali Shah Geelani’s stand not to attend Eid Milan because of reservations and said that party’s decision was taken in the interests of ongoing freedom struggle. “Although Pakistan has supported Kashmir freedom struggle politically, morally and diplomatically but not mention Kashmir issue in recent bilateral talks was purely a blunder and has hurt the Kashmiris,” Zaffer said, adding sidelining Kashmiris can’t bear fruits.
