Banihal, June 29 :(KNS)  J&K National Conference leader and district president Ramban Sajjad Shaheen has expressed grief over the damage to property in a massive fire incident at village Hijwa in Khari tehsil of Banihal Constituency. The fire incident occurred in the morning today in which more than two dozen residential houses worth crores were reduced to ashes.

Demanding adequate compensation to the Hijwa fire victims , Shaheen has appealed to the local and district Administration to depute teams for assessment of losses so that the affected families are compensated at an earliest.

He also urged the district administration to carry out relief and rehabilitation measures for the victims of the fire incident.

He said that there is an immediate need of establishing well-equipped fire service stations across the district, adding that in hilly areas such stations should be opened at block level.

Shaheen has demanded setting up of fire service stations at Khari, Mahoo, Ramsoo, Neel, Ukharhal to cater the needs of the people in the area.
