Banihal August 23 (KNS) : National Conference leader and District President Ramban, Sajjad Shaheen conducted week long extensive tour to various remote villages in Banihal constituency including Neel, Bohardar, Chidwas, Gagoni, Pogal, Maligam, Wagan, Khari, Kawna, Sumar, Harog, Bajmasta in Banihal Constituency and took stock of the problems faced by the villagers on day today basis.

During the visit he met scores of people and also interacted party workers. The locals apprised him about the dilapidated condition of  roads, erratic power supply in far-off areas besides lack of health care facilities in their villages.

The people also complained about scarcity of drinking water in several villages and demanded construction of  bridge at Narad at Maligam  Nallah besides all weather Bawa to Mangit road that will be connecting majority population living in these villages through out the year.

Shaheen said the bad condition of Banihal -Mangit road, Ukharhal-Panchal road, Ukharhal-Maligam road, Digdole Bajmasta road , Banihal-Mangit road has badly impacted the mobility and added to the miseries of the people living in these remote villages. 

While expressing grave concern over the inability of the local administration in clearing the bottle necks on construction of Bawa- Mangit road and Seeran-Sarachi road, the NC leader urged the R&B Department for taking up the construction work on immediate bases.

Shaheen expressing deep concern over power crisis in peripheral areas particularly Khari, Trigam, Mahu-Mangit, Sarachi, Neel, Pogal-Paristan and said that unscheduled power cuts have aggravated woes of people in these villages of Banihal constituency. He said that the unscheduled and frequent power cuts continue unabated and people are facing massive inconvenience due to power cuts.

Shaheen also drew the attention of the LG led State administration towards deficiencies in Education, power and Health sectors and sought immediate filling up of vacant posts as also stocking of adequate quantity of medicines in the Health institutions.

Shaheen along with party colleagues Adv Arjun Singh Raju, Mohd Arif Wani, Mohd Sulatan Mughal and Riyaz Ahmed Mir, Haji Bashir Ahmed and Chodhary Mohd Iqbal also went to the residence of party district vice president Maneshar Singh Raju at Bajmasta and offered condolences to him on demise of his father who died after a brief illness recently.

Shaheen was accompanied by block presidents Riyaz Ahmed Mir, Mohd Ashraf Naik, Gulam Rasool Daing, Nisar Ahmed Sohil, ARIF Ahmed Wani, besides Abdul Gani Wani, Bahar Ahmed Naik, Shakib ur Rahman Runyal, Imtyaz Ahmed Mughal, Musharaf Ahmed Naik, Mujibur Rahman Runyal, Syed Murtaza Hussain and others.(KNS)
