Banihal March 5:(KNS) National Conference leader and District president Ramban, Mir Sajjad Shaheen today conducted extensive tour to Village Kawna, Ahma, Kumbla, Udhala, Pathhalan in Khari Tehsil and took stock of the situation arisen after long spell of heavy snowfall during the winter.
He met people in Khari and Nachlana also where locals apprised him about erratic power supply in far-off areas of the tehsil due to snapping of electric poles and wires following heavy snowfall. The people also complained about scarcity of drinking water in several villages.
Shaheen said the road connectivity to Khari -Mahu and Banihal -Mangit roads is in bad shape and the delay in restoration work has badly impacted the mobility and added to the miseries of the people.
He particularly referred to the frequent blockade of Nachlana - Khari -Mahu road due to sinking of a major portion of the road at Hirnihal in Khari tehsil, saying no serious effort is being made to repair the road, Adding that the concerned agencies must formulate a comprehensive plan of construction of a permanent bridge at the sinking portion as a long term solution as people are facing enormous problems due to frequent closure of the only link road connecting the area with rest of the district.
He has urged the District Administration to take immediate cognizance of this serious public issue as it is of utmost importance for the large number of local population living in the entire Khari tehsil.
Shaheen also drew the attention of the L/Governor led State administration towards deficiencies in Education and Health sectors and sought immediate filling up of vacant posts as also stocking of adequate quantity of medicines in the Health institutions.
He said complaints about defunct utility services have also been received from Khari-Trigam, Mahoo-Mangit, Pogal-Paristan, Neel, Sumar, Sarachi, Bajmasta, Chaka, Sarbagni, Bingara, Kumbla, Maligam, Arimarg, Buzla Senabati and Tanka.
Later, Shaheen also went to the residence of Molana Gulam Qadir Qasmi Imam Marqazi Jamia Masjid Khari to offer condolences on the sad demise of his mother who also happens to be grand mother of DDC counselor Khari and district Vice President of party's Women Wing for Ramban Mrs Gulshan Parveen.
Block president Khari Mohamed Ashraf Naik, tehsil incharge Gulam Hassan Naik, block secretary Khari Farooq Ahmed Goth, Abdul Hamid Khan, Youth Block president Shabir Ahmed Naik, vice presidents Jalal ud Din Padder, Mohamed Anwar Naik, Abdul Aziz Naik, Youth leader Nisar Ahmed and others also accompanied the leader.(KNS)
