Srinagar, August 12 (KNS): Peoples Conference President Sajad Lone has raised concerns over the recent increase in electricity bills, casting doubt on the promises of free power for the poor.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Lone made two pointed predictions regarding the ongoing power policy changes. "There has been an increase in the electricity bills. Two things if I may predict," he said. "First, for the poorest who are waiting for 200 units of free power—whether you will eventually get free power or not, I don’t know.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelBut for sure, you will get a meter."
He further warned that even if the government eventually provides 200 units of free electricity, the public may still end up paying more. "The net payment that you will make towards the power department will be higher than what you are paying now," Lone added.(KNS).
