Srinagar, April 25 (KNS): Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Conference intensified its grassroots mobilisation in north Kashmir on Saturday, with Party President and MLA Handwara Sajad Gani Lone chairing a series of extensive organisational meetings across the Langate constituency in Kupwara district.
The outreach spanned Halqa Committees of Qaziabad across its Upper, Middle and Lower blocks, followed by focused interactions with party cadres from the Kandi and Magam blocks. The engagements witnessed active participation from grassroots workers, local representatives and senior leadership, signalling a calibrated organisational push ahead of what the party termed a critical political phase in the region.
Addressing the gatherings, Lone underscored the centrality of grassroots structures in defining the party’s political ethos. “Our strength emanates from the grassroots. These Halqa Committees are not mere organisational units; they embody the voice of the people. It is incumbent upon us to ensure that every concern articulated here translates into responsive governance,” he said.
Reaffirming the party’s commitment to accessibility and accountability, he cautioned against detachment in governance.

Former DDC Chairman Kupwara and Langate Constituency Incharge Irfan Panditpuri, who coordinated the outreach, highlighted the importance of continuous engagement at the booth level. District President Kupwara Hafizullah Mir and other senior functionaries were also present during the interactions.
Taking aim at the prevailing governance approach, Lone stressed the need for substantive and inclusive development.
“Development must be equitable and far-reaching. The endeavour should have been to ensure that no village, no block and no segment of society feels unheard. But we are under a governance system that is increasingly driven by optics rather than welfare,” he said.
The meetings concluded with a renewed resolve from the party leadership to further strengthen organisational cohesion and expand public outreach across the Langate constituency in the coming weeks. (KNS)
