Srinagar, Oct 20 (KNS): Traders bodies Thursday extended its support to programmes of Employees Joint Action Committee (EJAC) to press for reinstatement of employees sacked for their alleged participation in pro-freedom protests during the ongoing uprising.
“We reject the government diktat and will support any programme of the EJAC to press for reinstate of sacked government employees,” Muhammad Yasin Khan, chairman Kashmir Economic Alliance told KNS.
Khan, who also heads the Kashmir Traders and Manufacturers Federation (KTMF) added that government employees are part and parcel of the society. “The government must understand that uprising has not stopped. It is going on. The people of Kashmir demand peaceful and dignified resolution of Kashmir issue,” he said, adding, “What is wrong if government employees have also taken part in peaceful protests.”
He told KNS that every section of the society is at the back of EJAC. “Trader bodies are also with the EJAC. We will support their every programme to press for reinstate of the sacked employees,” he added.
Khan said that instead of taking action against those who are involved in killings of civilians, maiming and blinding youth, “Government is acting in opposite direction by committing atrocities against those who took part in peaceful protests.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel”
EJAC has threatened to launch a mass agitation if the government didn’t reinstate the employees sacked for their alleged participation in pro-freedom protests during the ongoing uprising.
In an unprecedented move, the J&K Government has sacked several employees who were accused by the J&K police’s intelligence wing—the Criminal Investigation Department—of spearheading or participating in protests during the ongoing pro-freedom uprising in Kashmir.
Of these, 20 are from Education Department, three from Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution department, two each from Revenue, Agriculture and Public Health Engineering Departments and, one each from Rural Development Department, Animal Husbandry, Accounts and Treasuries, Fisheries, Forest, Health and Fire and Emergency Services departments.
