Srinagar December 10:(KNS) Jammu and Kashmir RTI Movement has strongly condemned the deplorable incident wherein some journalists were thrashed by a senior police officer at Srigufwara in Anantnag district on Thursday morning while they were covering the DDC elections in the area.
Chairman RTI Movement Dr Raja Muzaffar Bhat in his statement condemned the action by calling it disgraceful and unworthy.

“It is an irony that freedom of expression and speech has been held at ransom in Kashmir. Journalists and even activists are being targeted by authorities off and on . By thrashing journalists that too on the World Human Rights day is really uncalled for. We demand that Govt must take action against the police officer involved in this inexcusable act” said Dr Raja Muzaffar.(KNS)
