Srinagar, Feb 06 (KNS): The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) on Friday launched its nationwide 'Kashmir to Kanyakumari' Dhwaj Yatra from Srinagar's historic Lal Chowk, marking the commencement of centenary celebrations for the organisation.
The yatra, associated with the upcoming film 'Shatak Sangh Ke 100 Varsh', began with the hoisting of the Bhagwa Dhwaj at Lal Chowk. The event saw participation from RSS volunteers and local residents.
Speaking to news agency Kashmir News Service (KNS) RSS karyakarta and film producer Vir Kapur said, "The yatra started from Lal Chowk with a one-minute silence to pay tribute to the RSS karyakartas, local Kashmiri residents, and Indian Army soldiers who lost their lives during the struggle for Kashmir's integration in 1947."
He said, "Kashmir is an integral part of India--not just in geography, but in culture and spirit.

He said the yatra aims to travel across the country, carrying a message of unity and national consciousness. It will proceed from Srinagar towards Jammu.
Notably, The film 'Shatak: Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh ke Sau Varsh', which highlights the ideological and social journey of the RSS, is scheduled for a nationwide theatrical release on February 19, 2026. The film is conceptualised by Anil D. Agarwal and directed by Ashish Mal. (KNS)
