RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat day-dreaming about Kashmir: Soz

Srinagar, Oct 04 (KNS): Senior leader and former minister, Prof Saif-ud-din Soz on Monday said that the RSS chief was day-dreaming when he asked the RSS cadres in Jammu for concrete results and the change in minds of the people in J&K after abrogation of article 370.

In a statement, issuer to Kashmir News Service (KNS), Soz said that the RSS chief, Mohan Bhagwat addressed a gathering of RSS cadres at Jammu the other day, where he asked for concrete results, particularly, the change in the minds of the people of J&K after abrogation of Article 370.

“I have a feeling that since he does not have much information about the people of Kashmir, he indulged in day dreaming,” the statement reads.

It reads that he seems to be absolutely ignorant of Kashmiris’ tryst in history of their survival under Mughals, Pathans, Sikhs and Dogras. “The history is that the people of Kashmir had proved their mettle in their struggle for freedom.”

Soz said that it was, therefore, that Maharaja Ranjit Singh wrote to his last Governor in Kashmir that whoever of my officers is appointed in Kashmir before occupying himself with anything, he must make the people happy and earn their good wishes.

“Kashmiris are worshippers of one Universal Almighty and their prayers shall bring the Maharaja and his Kingdom prosperity and felicity.”

“I do not know what happened to Ranjit Singh’s prayer, but, the last Governor of the Lahore Darbar, Shaikh Gulam Mohiuddin served the Lahore Darbar well and, among other things, he opened the lock of Jamia Masjid, Srinagar for prayers, after 25 years.”

The statement reads that Kashmiris in gratitude made his funeral one of the biggest in their history, while he was buried in the vicinity of the saint Hamza Makhdoom. (KNS)
