RSS chief demand for separate population policy for Muslims undemocratic, unconstitutional: Soz

Srinagar, Nov 04 (KNS): Former Union Minister and senior Congress leader Saiddu-din Soz’s statement.
“RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat had described India as a Hindu Rashtra on February 8, 2015 with a suggestion that this (referring to present political dispensation in India) was the most favorable time to organize all Hindus in the country.
The media in India had then widely got alarmed and editorial after editorial criticized the RSS Chief. The consulting editor of Economic Times, Abheek Barman had then felt that this kind of approach would harm the very Idea of India recognized by the world as a democratic, pluralistic, and secular country. He had asked RSS Chief why he felt Hindustan’s 80% constitute a minority.
The RSS Chief has been feeling extremely uncomfortable on the (supposedly) increase in the Muslim population in India. He has now asked his Govt. at the Centre to review policy to check Muslim and Christian population.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
It is regrettable that the RSS Chief does not want to appreciate that the Muslim population has not actually increased and his worry is unfounded. Bhagwat also does not like to know that the Executive Director of US based India Policy Institute, has established that while for many in India, increased prosperity has improved their lives, the Muslim population still lags behind in programmes, particularly education. It is unfortunate that RSS Chief also does not want to know that Muslims in India have adopted family welfare programmes with the other communities.
It seems that RSS perception on demography is spreading in the country and may be Rajasthan Govt.’s decision (yesterday) to allow the Govt. servants in the state to have third child is a step in this very direction.” (KNS)
