Srinagar, Sep 03 (KNS): The Rashtriya Rifles Battalion at Widdipura organised a pre-recruitment training programme at Kashmir Centre for Education and Counseling (KSEC) at Mirgund village (Khanpeth COB) w.e.f 20 Jan 2018 to 29 Jul 2018.
The training programme as per the statement issued to KNS was organized “as part of its re-energised and meaningful humane efforts to uplift socio-economic condition of the youth.”
The statement reads that a total of 415 aspirants registered for the training programme conducted and finally underwent the Indian Army Recruitment Rally (2018) held at Bandipora.
“A total of 182 candidates cleared physical examinations and 109 candidates cleared the medical examinations. This effort finally culminated in successful recruitment of 31 candidates which increased from 17 candidates who got selected in the year 2017. They will be proudly joining the prestigious Indian Army and a ceremony was organised by 29 Rashtriya Rifles (GRENADIERS) at KSEC at Mirgund village to felicitate them,” the statement added.
“The efforts were undertaken keeping the financial status and rural background of the candidates who were willing to don the olive green uniform,” Army said.
“During the course of training programme the recruitment aspirants of Baramulla, Budgam, Bandipora and Kupwara were provided all possible training and guidance for selection in various categories,” the statement added.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
They said that initial actions undertaken to ensure the success of these candidates included generation of awareness amongst the youth of the area, creation of infrastructure at KSEC, Mirgund to facilitate training of aspirants and registration of aspirants. “Thereafter, initial documentations, medical examination and online registration was organised for the potential candidates,” Army added.
“Coaching staff was arranged for physical training, written examinations who also provided periodic guidance to the aspirants. Regular mock examinations were conducted and free study material was provided to the aspiring candidates. The successful candidates and their parents expressed their gratitude for all the assistance provided and praised the Indian Army for their whole hearted efforts in maintaining peace and tranquility in the region,” the statement said.
Brigadier T M Pattanaik, Commander Headquarter 10 Sector Rashtriya Rifles was the chief guest at the event which was also attended by officers of local civil administration and Police.
Parents of successful candidates and local youth aspiring to join the Army in future also attended the programme.
Commander felicitated all the successful candidates and wished them all the success in future and he further praised the efforts of faculty and staff of KSEC for their perseverance and dedication. (KNS)
