 Srinagar, June 16 (KNS): Several political parties including National Conference and other regional mainstream political groups are participating in a round table conference in New Delhi on Saturday. The Conference is being organized by a noted political analyst and track II diplomat O P Shah.

Shah who heads “Centre for Peace and Progress” told Kashmir News Service that an important conference on ‘Another Look at Article 370 and 35A’ will be held on June 17 (Saturday) at 2 pm at India International Center in New Delhi in which prominent political personalities from Jammu and Kashmir will participate.

“In the conference, former Chief Ministers of J&K including Dr. Farooq Abdullah and Mehbooba Mufti; Awami National Conference senior vice-president Muzaffar Shah, Member of Parliament Justice (Rtd) Hasnain Masoodi, CPI(M) leader Muhammad Yousuf Tarigami, Harsh Dev Singh leaders from People’s Conference Nizam-ud-Din Bhat and other well-known figures associated with civil society, Kashmir watchers have been specially invited to the meeting,” Shah confirmed to KNS.

He said in the meeting there will be a threadbare discussion on elections, restoration of statehood and Article 370 and 35A.

“All participants have been invited to the meeting to present their view point on the subjects mentioned in the agenda,” he added.

Besides well-known personalities associated with the Pandit community will also participate in the meeting including Air Chief Marshal (Rtd) Kapil Kak, eminent lawyer and supreme court lawyer Advocate Ashok Bhan, apart from Jammu. Kashmir People’s Party’s Sheeban Ashai will also participate in the conference.

Many political leaders have reached New Delhi to attend the conference while as PDP Chief Mehbooba Mufti and Apni Party president Altaf Bukhari have yet to confirm their participation, Shah said. (KNS)
