SRINAGAR: Jan.22 (KNS): Transport Department Kupwara today organised road safety awareness programme.

A statement issued to KNS reads, "On the 5th day of the road safety month Motor Vehicle Department Kupwara with an aim to create awareness among people to discourage and prevent underage youth from driving, besides making others to abide Traffic rules and signage’s while driving and to minimize the road accidents, a road safety awareness program was organized at main Bus stand Kupwara and Sumo stand Handwara in which large gathering of commercial drivers participated."
The statement also reads: Pamphlets related to road safety were also distributed among the drivers."
It is pertinent to mention here that to build awareness about road safety and reduce road accidents, a month-long 32nd National Road Safety, 2021 awareness drive themed ‘Sadak Surakhsha Jeevan Raksha’ was launched on 17th of this across all the districts of Kashmir and the month long program is scheduled to culminate on February 17.(KNS)
