Srinagar, July 23(KNS): The Jammu and Kashmir police on Friday said it recovered a same AK Rifle from killed militants in Sopore which was snatched from a Territorial Army(TA) soldier in the Khusipora militant attack of 2020.

Jammu and Kashmir police in a tweet informed that One AK Rifle recovered from the killed militants is the same snatched from our TA soldier in the Khusipora militant attack on 26th of November 2020.

Earlier, today a top Lashkar-e-Toiba Commander among the two militants were killed in an encounter at the Warpora area of Sopore. 

Inspector-General of Police Kashmir Vijay Kumar said one of the killed militants identified as Fayaz War was involved in several attacks and killings of civilians, security forces. "He was the last perpetrator of violence in North Kashmir, " he said. (KNS)
