Doctors Association Kashmir (DAK) today questioned government on return of Dr Saleem ur Rehman and posting him as Director State AIDS Control Society despite his involvement in serious corruption charges.
In a statement to KNS, President DAK Dr Nisar ul Hassan said that return of corrupt official has exposed government and its slogan of eradicating the menace of corruption.
On one hand government claims to weed out corruption and show door to corrupt officials, on the other hand tainted officials are called back.
There is a deep rooted nexus between corrupt officials and some unseen forces and corruption seems to be a state backed phenomenon.
Corruption is a political concession in Kashmir and is promoted at highest level.
It is a conspiracy in Kashmir where even loyalties are bought.
Corruption has not only destroyed our institutions but has eroded our culture and tradition.

Dr Saleem’s involvement in Drug kits scam is established and a FIR no 32/2012 is registered against him in State Vigilance Organization.
He is involved in deliberately overlooking the specifications of fake drug Maximizin and ignoring the credentials of the firm and potency of the fake drug.
Government instead of dismissing services and seizing illegally accumulated wealth of corrupt officials are rewarding them by plump postings.
There is an open loot of public money by corrupt officials who have no fear of accountability and in fact enjoy the privilege of impunity.
People are deprived of development and equitable standards of living because of the climate of corruption and there seems to be no end to corruption which is institutionalized and has approval of system. (KNS)
