Srinagar, Oct 10 (KNS): Declaring restrictions on 8th and 10th Historical Muharram processions for 26 years with a factual face of the Indian secularism, President J&K Anjuman-e-Sharie Shian and senior Hurriyat leader Aga Syed Hassan Almosvi Alsafvi said India has adopted policy of snatching religious freedom along with political freedom.
He said government has curbed on Historical Lal Chowk Muharram procession which is a traditional communal harmony and symbol of unity, undermined sentiment of people of Kashmir. Muharram procession is an expression of devotion towards character & role of Martrys of Karbala and hatred towards every oppression and brutal action.

In the meantime, several Muharram processions were taken out across the valley on 8thMuhrarram especially in Pallar Budgam, Doyen Chadoora, Paris Abadpora, Malik Gund Chattergam, Iskanderpora, Madeen Sahab Zadibal, Gulshan Bagh Botakadal, Odina Sonawari, Gund Nowgam, Sonabaran Inderkote, Gadakhud Gamdoo, Khanapeth Baramulla, Zadi Mohalla Pattan and Kanloo Pattan in which thousands of mourners participated.
