While addressing the gathering, the protesting leaders said that the protests would continue until the authorities release all the detainees languishing in different jails across the state.
“All the detainees languishing in different jails across the state have been arrested for demanding freedom. The detainees have not committed any offence and have been being illegally placed behind the bars,” the leaders said.
They said that the authorities have snatched the rights of people here and have been placing them behind the bars ‘illegally’.
“We are on the roads today to demand the immediate release of all the detainees. We will continue to fight against such oppression until all the detainees will be released,” the leaders said.
Meanwhile, the protesting leaders later dispersed peacefully. (KNS)
