Srinagar, Nov 18 (KNS): Provincial President National Conference, Nasir Aslam wani said that resignation of NC President before presidential elections is part of party's electoral process.
Speaking to Kashmir News Service (KNS), Nasir said that resignation of Farooq Abdullah as NC chief is not due to personal or any health issue. "The current president resigns before the election so that other people in the party can nominate their papers for the position which is part of the National Conference's electoral process", he said.
He said that presidential elections were held every two years but now they have decided that its term will be kept for five years.
On being asked about electing the new president, he said that the elections will be held within a month in which any party worker can be elected for this post.(KNS)
