Residents of Handwara’s Mawar rue unscheduled power cuts

Srinagar, April 18 (KNS): Residents of several villages in Mawar area pf Kupwara district on Tuesday complained of disruption in power supply in the area despite paying their regular electricity bills.

Residents told Kashmir News Service (KNS) that villages including Audoora , Qalamabad, Drungso, Nogam, Lawosa, Shahrama, Warpora, Khudi, Haril, Jahama, Shartgund , and adjoining areas are not getting power supply as per schedule.

They alleged that the employees of the grid station Audoora Qalamabad are deliberately causing people to suffer by disrupting power supply in the area. 

They said that only 5 to 6 hours of electricity is being supplied to these areas due to which they have to face difficulties even in the month of Ramadan.

The residents said that the department concerned should cancel their agreements as the department has failed to supply power as per schedule.  (KNS)
