Srinagar, Jul 06 (KNS): The Royal College of Psychiatrists in London conducted their famous annual International Congress in the first week of July. The research studies were led by Dr Sheikh Shoib, one of the famous senior Psychiatrists of Srinagar, and also received collaboration from Dr Shah Faisal, who is currently working in the UK.
The first research was a preliminary study based on the drastic effect of disturbance of sleep (like snoring) on mental health (Obstructive sleep apnoea). Dr Shah presented this in the Rapid fire round and received huge appreciation from the audience. Dr Sheikh Shoaib and team put forth a hypothesis for the same which was very well appreciated by international consultant psychiatrists and received constructive feedback from some to do further research in the same field in different settings. This event was also attended by some other Psychiatrists of Kashmiri origin working in the UK.
Dr Sheikh Shoaib MD psychiatrist working under director health services got his MD degree in Jammu and Kashmir. He is also a leading researcher in the field of psychiatry and medicine. He is also specialised in addiction medicine. (KNS)
