‘Holy month of Ramadan makes us introspect’
Srinagar, June 20 (KNS): The incarcerated chairman of Democratic Freedom Party (DFP) Shabir Ahmad Shah on Monday appealed people to remember the poor, needy, destitute, and the families of martyrs in this blessed month of Ramadan and help them in every possible way.
In a statement issued to KNS, Shah said people should collect the charity and zakaat in local Bait-ul-Maal committees and distribute it among the deserving. He made a special appeal to financially sound families to avail the reward from Almighty Allah by showing more generosity in this month.
Shah said the holy month of Ramadan also makes us introspect and realise the hunger of those who don't get a single meal a day and are unable to express their sad plight. "We must not forget these people but help them so that they too may join the Eid celebrations," he said.
Making a particular mention of martyrs' families, Shabir Ahmad Shah said the Shuhadaa sacrificed their precious lives for our future and made us indebted to them.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel"How can we celebrate the Eid without remembering these families. Meanwhile, a party spokesperson has strongly condemned the arrest spree by the puppet administration and police in Islamabad in view of the upcoming so-called assembly elections. "Dozens of Freedom Party activists have been arrested and taken to undisclosed locations. Those arrested include Er Farooq Ahmad Khan, Adil Ahmad Wagay, Ishfaq Kotwal, Bashir Ahmad Bashir, and others," he said.
"We have seen this election drama since last 69 years," the spokesperson said. (KNS)
