Srinagar, July 05 (KNS): On the eve of Eid-ul-Fitr, the incarcerated chairman of Democratic Freedom Party (DFP) Shabir Ahmad Shah has appealed the Muslims to remember the affected families of Kashmir's freedom movement and involve them in the Eid celebrations.
In a statement issued to KNS, Shah in his Eid message said that during the ongoing freedom movement, thousands of families lost their loved ones and thousands subjected to enforced disappearances. He said it is our responsibility to have concern for the lakhs of widows and orphans who are living a life of misery.
"We must remember all such families on the occasion of Eid who have sacrificed for the freedom of the nation," he said, adding, we have great respect and regard for these families.
Shah reiterated his appeal to people to show sincerity with the freedom movement saying we must be optimistic regarding the freedom of our nation.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
On the occasion, Shah expressed solidarity with the political prisoners who are languishing in jails and condemned the administration's attitude towards them.
He appealed the international human rights bodies to take cognizance of the plight of these prisoners saying many of them continue to languish in jails despite serving the term.
The DFP chairman appealed people to pray for the martyrs of Kashmir and Muslim Ummah. "Our real Eid will be on that day when we achieve the freedom from Indian forcible and illegal occupation," Shah said.
Meanwhile, on the directions of Shabir Ahmad Shah, a delegation led by party's general secretary Moulana Abdullah Tari visited Islamabad to express condolence and solidarity with Muhammad Ayoub on the sad demise of his elder brother Nazir Ahmad. The delegation prayed for the heavenly abode for the deceased. (KNS)
