Srinagar, Apr 29 (KNS): The land owner who has given his land on rent at his home in Bagandar area of Humhama for the installation of Reliance Jio tower is being pushed to the wall as despite spending money for the resolving the case, the cellular company has failed to pay the rent from last five years.
Nazir Ahmad Deva, son of Assadullah Deva told Kashmir News Service (KNS) that a cellular company, Reliance Jio made an agreement with them in 2013 regarding the installation of tower in their lawns for 25 years. “The work for the installation of tower was started in March 2014 but the work was stopped after the SMC officials reached the spot and stopped the work due to some reasons,” he said.

However, he added that they approached the court for the redressal of the issue. “Some of the locals from the area had objected the installation of tower,” he said, adding that the issue with them was resolved on certain conditions.
Nonetheless, he said after resolving the issue completely, the cellular company was now playing delaying tactics to pay the rented amount to the family, saying that “the officials have told us that they will provide the amount for one year only instead of five years, which was not acceptable to us.”
Meanwhile, officials of Reliance Jio told KNS they will look into the matter soon.
However, the land owner said that such promises have been made by them several times in the past but nothing has been done on ground. (KNS)
