Srinagar, October 16:(KNS) Apni Party district president Anantnag Abdul Rahim Rather on Friday demanded for an early release of payments against sanctioned PMAY cases, wages and material of the MGNREGA works which have been completed years back in the district.

After conducting an extensive tour in Kokernag, Rather said that the prospective beneficiary families of PMAY are eagerly waiting for payments since long, so that they are able to construct their shelters before the snowfall.

He has also urged for release of payment of wages and material of the MGNREGA works which have been completed years back in the area. “The people associated with such works are economically downtrodden and need these payments in time or otherwise the purpose of the scheme gets defeated. Also the authorities should identify and issue allotments of for the new works at an early so that works get completed before the snowfall,” he pleaded.

During his tour, Rather held interactions with the people who appraised him about their difficulties and issues that need to be sorted out before the winter vagaries.

Apni Party district president Anantnag also asked the government to arrange funding under the languishing projects for the ongoing works of construction of Hill Park Kokernag, construction of Kokernag-Verinag Road via Zambalgam, Hiller Dewalgam Road (Canal Road) and Circuit Road Kokernag, which are under CRF funding, so that these are completed at an earliest.(KNS)
