Srinagar, Feb 20 (KNS): While expressing its deep concern over the denial of bail to the Kashmiri scholar Prof Sayed Abdul Rehman Geelani by the Delhi court, Hurriyat Conference (G) announced that in the absence of Chairman Syed Ali Geelani, the senior leader and the Secretary General of the forum Shabir Ahmad Shah along with other leaders will address an important press conference on 22 February Monday, 12:00 noon at his Sanatnagar office.
Hurriyat (G) said that the rejection of the bail application by the court is a politically motivated decision and it does not meet the parameters of justice.
Hurriyat (G) spokesman said that alike the case of Shaheed Mohammad Afzal Guru where in the court instead of fulfilling the requirements of justice and the constitution talked about the addressing of collective conscience of the people in the same way the bail application of SAR Geelani was today rejected under the public and media pressure. Spokesman said that on 9th of February a academic type of function was held in press club at New Delhi in which SAR Geelani was also present but there he did nothing like that which could had cost him for sedition charges or which could justify the denial of his bail. It is just a vengeance policy for the crime of he being a Muslim and that too a Kashmiri.
Hurriyat (G) spokesman said that the extremely biased and step motherly treatment of the Indian government, law enforcement agencies and the Indian media towards the Kashmir and the Kashmiris is not hidden from anybody but the biased approach of the judiciary is the most sorrowful and concerning matter which is taking heavy toll on the justice and human values and the innocent people are fabricated in false and baseless cases and are either put to death or left to rot in the prison for life.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
Hurriyat (G) expressed its surprise over the remarks of the judge named Harvinder Singh wherein he had said that it seems that the charges against Prof SAR Geelani are right and the function may have created law and order problems.
Spokesman said that the independent judiciary cannot punish or deny bail to any person on the basis of assumptions and presumptions or hypothetical theories. He said that the court was not having any solid reason to reject the bail application but it is the negative propaganda of the Indian media and the communal groups which is affecting the decision of the said judge.
Hurriyat (G) reiterated its stand that Kashmiri nation will not remain silent if SAR Geelani is not released and the crackdown against the Kashmiri students in Delhi is not stopped forthwith and a strong reaction will came to fore against this state terrorism in the state.
Hurriyat (G) spokesman appealed the Journalists and media related people to come to report the important press conference on Monday at Sanatnagar at the given time. (KNS)
