Reduction in troop numbers essential to normalise situation in Kashmir: Khaleda Shah

Srinagar, 27 February (KNS): Welcoming the agreement between the armies of India and Pakistan, president Awami National Conference said that it was necessary to reduce the number of troops to normalise situation in the Kashmir Valley.

According to Kashmir News Service, Awami National Conference chief Khaleda Shah said that the liaison between the two countries' directors of military operations on the hotline a big development.

Khaleda said that there was no other way but to hold talks between the two countries to stop violence inside Jammu and Kashmir and on the borders.

She further said that the central government should reduce the number of troops deployed here to create a peaceful atmosphere in the valley so that the people could get relief from their daily problems. (KNS)
