Srinagar, Apr 12 (KNS): As authorities have decided to go for re-polling in several poll-bound areas of Budgam district on Thursday, the incarcerated chairman of Democratic Freedom Party (DFP), Shabir Ahmad Shah on Wednesday appealed people to teach the same befitting lesson to New Delhi and the pro-Indian parties here as they did on April 9.
In a statement issued to KNS, Shah said, “The motive behind re-polling amid state-sponsored killings is nothing but to increase the voting percentage through rigging. After facing a humiliating defeat on April 9, New Delhi by announcing a re-polls is adding salt to our injuries,” he said.
The DFP chairman expressed hope that people won’t forget the eight slain youth who were killed on Sunday and will send a clear message to the world that Kashmiris want nothing less than freedom from ‘Indian forcible occupation’.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
Shah said scores of people injured on Apr 9 are undergoing treatment in hospitals but the power hungry politicians are in hurry to hold re-polls.
He appealed to people to participate in the condolence gathering called in memory of Budgam martyrs on Apr 14, saying “we have can’t forget the sacrifices of these brave sons of the soil.”
Meanwhile, Shah talked to the families whose beloved ones were killed on Apr 9 over phone.
He also strongly condemned the ‘inhuman attitude’ meted out to leaders and activists languishing in jails and asked the police that it has to live and die in the same society.
“Such enmity against people and by spreading anarchy, police won’t achieve anything,” Shah said. (KNS)
